Cedarwood Management Services strongly recommend that guests have ambulance cover and take out travel insurance for their holiday to Falls Creek. This will protect you should you contract COVID19 at the last minute before your arrival, or if you have an accident that stops you from visiting for your booked stay.
The cost for a trip from Falls Creek to Albury which is our nearest trauma center is over $3,000.00 without Ambulance Cover, and if you require a Helicopter evacuation to Melbourne the cost is at least $10,000.00. For the sake of less than $100.00 per year Ambulance Cover is a must!
Booking Terms and Conditions.
Booking Deposits; Cedarwood Apartments prefer bookings made directly with our office to ensure that you get all of the information you need and so that you get the best apartment to suit your group.
Once you decide to stay at Cedarwood you will be required to pay a minimum of 50% deposit when making your booking if booked directly with Cedarwood (bookings through 3rd party sites pay in full on booking). If you do not wish to pay in full and you are booking online please ensure and mention this in the “special requirements” section when completing your booking online or full payment will be charged.
Payments are usually made by master or visa card for online bookings, or direct deposit into our account via EFT, or with Mastercard or Visa card for phone bookings.If paying a deposit only, the remaining balance of your booking fee is due no less than 45 days prior to your arrival date at Cedarwood again via direct deposit or card.If your arrival date is less than 45 days after the booking date you will be required to pay the full amount on booking unless other arrangements are made.
Check in and Check out times and procedures; Check in time is between 4pm and 6pm, and check out is by 10am. Late arrival is not possible.
For the safety of our guests, our staff, and also for the Emergency Volunteers who are members of our tiny community we do not accept arrivals later than 6pm. Bogong High Plains Road is the road on which you travel to get to Falls Creek and it is a declared “Hazardous Road”. With ice/snow/trees, and animals on the road after dark it is far more dangerous than traveling during daylight and we chose to not have you, or us put at risk on that road. If you cant get here after work just come the next day when it is safer.
Cedarwood requires guests to arrive between the hours our office is open so that we can check the number of guests in your group before you to check in, and to gather important information about your group, explain the ins and outs of Cedarwood itself, and also copy a drivers license and Master Card or VISA card for security on the apartment. Please ensure you have your actual drivers license and Mastercard or Visa card with you when you arrive.
Please ensure that you allow enough time to go through the ATS terminal and be brought up to Cedarwood in winter so that you get here before our office closes. At the busier times it can take over an hour to park the car and then get onto an ATS vehicle to come up to Cedarwood. If you think you are going to be cutting it fine please call our office from Mt Beauty before your phone drops out of service on the mountain road up to Falls Creek.
Cedarwood does not have the capacity to mind your gear before you check in. If your bus is due to arrive before 4pm please contact our office to make a plan or you may have to wait with your gear until your apartment is ready and you may have to wait outside in possibly inclement weather. If your bus is not leaving around our check out time also speak to our office the day before you leave regarding this.
Cancellation Policy: Should for some reason you have to cancel your booking an admin fee of 15% of the total booking fee will be charged.
If you cancel more than 45 days before your arrival date a full refund of the monies paid less the admin fee will be given.
If you cancel less than 45 days before your arrival date a refund less the admin fee will only be paid if the apartment is filled for the period that you have booked it.
If the apartment is filled for part of the booked period you will receive a partial refund less the admin fee for any sold nights. If the booking is not re filled no refund will be given.
You can avoid the cancellation fee by moving your booking – we allow this once per booking for free however this must be done no less than 45 days before your arrival date. Moving a booking less than 45 days before your arrival is not possible.
Please find the following options we offer our guests if State or Federal Government pandemic travel restrictions are in place that close the Falls Creek Resort and/or Cedarwood Apartments;
- You can avoid losing the 15% admin fee by moving your booking to a later date this season, or to next Summer, or to next season – Winter.
If you chose this option pop onto our live bookings and availability on the www.cedarwoodfallscreek.com website to see what dates are available (note; next winter is not open online so email the dates for us to check for you). We will require that you remain in the apartment already booked where ever possible. Pick dates that the apartment is available and then email us with your plans so that we can amend the booking for you before someone else books those dates.
- Alternatively, you can cancel your booking and pay an admin fee of 15% of the accommodation cost (even if inside the usual 45 days no refund period that applies to other cancellations).
If you chose option 2 we will need your Bank BSB and account number to transfer the balance into. We are unable to refund back onto VISA or Master Card as we require a better paper trail for refunds tracking.
Should you decide to proceed with a change/cancellation of your booking please let us know via email as we will require it in writing – we cannot change bookings over the phone.
Please ensure that you start a new email regarding booking changes and use the following email address email@example.com so that we can ensure that you are talking to us directly and not through the booking.com platform that we don’t regularly check!
If you test positive for COVID-19 or any other virus, or you have any other illness or injury please just prior to your visit to Falls Creek consult your travel insurance to see if you are covered for last minute cancellations for those reasons. Cedarwood Apartments Pandemic policy does not apply unless Falls Creek has been closed as a result of State or Federal travel restrictions.
Maximum occupancy Policy: Each apartment in Cedarwood has a maximum occupancy. This number varies between apartments and is based on the number of beds within it.
Cedarwood does not allow extra people in our apartments over the maximum number regardless of their age or their need for a bed, and exceeding this number will result in your group being unable to check in on arrival until alternate accommodation is secured for the extra people. If extras arrive after check in then exceeding the maximum limit the entire group will be evicted without refund and police may be involved. Excess guests will be noticed by our security system.
Extra people refers to persons of all ages including children, babies and toddlers regardless of whether or not they require an actual bed.
Guests found breaching this policy will be asked to find alternate accommodation for the extra person/persons and/or the entire group will be evicted without refund.
No Snow Policy: Cedarwood apartments provide accommodation year round and it is not dependent on snow. When there is no snow there are plenty of other things to do and as such we do not offer refunds or any change to bookings for this reason.
