Planning Your Trip
Arriving At Cedarwood
Cedarwood Location
Check In

Check in time is between 4pm and 6pm. Due to COVID-19 protocols regarding temperature checking Cedarwood requires guests to arrive between these hours while our office is open so that we can temperature check the guests in your group before we can allow you to check in.

We also need to gather important information about your group, explain the ins and outs of Cedarwood itself, and also copy a drivers license and Master Card or VISA card for security on the apartment.

Please ensure that you allow enough time to go through the ATS terminal and be brought up to Cedarwood in winter so that you get here before our office closes. If you think you are going to be cutting it fine please call our office from Mt Beauty before your phone drops out of service on the mountain road up to Falls Creek.

Around Cedarwood

Cedarwood is located right in the top of the village with excellent access from the home trails in winter and it is right on the street with plenty of parking in the summer.

The streets are covered in snow in winter so access around the village is on skis or boards, on foot (in appropriate footwear), or in an Accommodation Transfer Service (ATS) tracked vehicle or Village Shuttle. Cars cannot drive within the village in winter and need to be parked in the overnight parking areas. A resort entry fee applies to overnight parking within the resort.

At the top end of Schuss Street we are only 200 metres from the Eagle chairlift and only 30 metres of this distance is along the roads traveled by the oversnow taxis. This means that there is no need to worry about getting in the way of these machines and also less traffic means the snow lasts a little longer on the rest of the short trip downhill to the chair. The “Summit” chairlift is only a little further than the Eagle chairlift and is the one that operates at various times through the summer for mountain bike and walkers access to the top of the hills and some of our mountain bike trails.

Food, Drink, & Activities

With many bars and restaurants close by to chose from it is easy to head out for a coffee or for dining or simply to pop down to the licensed supermarket for supplies. In summer not all food and beverage operators are open however there are still plenty of options available or you can dine in and cook at home in our self contained apartments.

With the “aqueduct” directly behind us it is simple to follow it out to the “Nordic Bowl” if you wish to do some cross country skiing or in summer take a ride, walk or run out to the dam on this relatively flat trail. The aqueduct is also the link trail for our extensive network of mountain bike trails which means Cedarwood is the perfect location for Mountain bikers.

We have natural bush surroundings on 3 of the 4 sides of the building and it is common to see wildlife and bird all around us. After the snow has melted you can see that we are right next door to the “Cedarwood Bog” which is an example of the bogs that are native to this area and play a huge role in water quality and clarity in the village. They are the reason that we have some of the purest water in Australia running from our taps for you to drink!
